Serbian star Novak Djokovic played some blistering strokes on both sides of the court to subdue the German contender Philipp Petzchner in three straight sets with a 7-5 6-3 7-6 (6) scoreline. With this win, Dejokovic advanced into the third round of the US Open 2010.
There were some exciting moments in the match, when both the players tried to outdo each other in executing some cheeky shots, but it was the Serbian Novak Djokovic who kept himself calm till the end and stuck well to his game plan to earn an easy victory – without any fuss.

Both the players held on to their serves in the first set. But then, Djokovic earned the much needed break in the penultimate twelfth game of the first set and wrapped it up with a 7-5 score.
The Serbian took the momentum of the first set into the second and easily got the coveted break in the sixth game of the second set and won it with a 6-3 score.
Final set witnessed some interesting moments, as both the players pushed each other and also traded breaks before taking it to the tie-breaker, where Djokovic nailed it and sailed into the third round of the US Open 2010, being played here at the Flushing Meadows.
