Reigning US Open champion Novak Djokovic avenged his defeat to Olympic Bronze medallist Juan Martin Del Potro as he destroyed the 2009 champion in straight sets in his semifinal match in the Cincinnati Masters.
Novak Djokovic was a figure of determination in the first set, as the Serb attacked the World No.6's serve and held his own quite comfortably. He faced two break points early on in the set, but the Argentine failed to convert and the Serb took advantage of it, and broke the Argentine in the very next game. The Serb then did what his job by holding on to serve and taking the set 6-3. The reigning US Open champion needed just 45 minutes to finish it out.

Djokovic came out even harder at the Argentine in the second set, and had all the answers to Del Potro's questions. The Argentine put in a rather subdued display, something that is unlike the lanky right hander. The second set ended even quicker than the first set, with the Serb breaking his opponent twice and securing his place in the final.
The Serb smashed 15 winners and committed only 18 errors compared to 27 errors committed by the Argentine as he won the match 6-3,6-2.
