Top-seed Novak Djokovic of Serbia proved too quick and devastating for the World No. 75 Carlos Berlocq of Argentina in a second-round match of the 2011 US Open. Well, the Serbian registered a lop-sided 6-0 6-0 6-2 victory over Berlocq and stormed into the third-round, here at Flushing Meadows. In the fourth round, Djokovic will take on former World No. 3 Nikolay Davydenko of Russia, who registered a straight sets 6-2 6-4 7-5 victory over Italian Potito Starace to come this far in the tournament.
Djokovic needed just 1 and half hour to finish this match. The Serbian fired 5 aces and hammered 31 winners, while Berlocq committed 23 unforced errors. Djokovic did not allow the Argentine to win a single game in first two sets, but Berlocq played really well to avoid a third-set bagel and broke the Serbian twice – but in the end, he could not match-up with Djokovic’s consummate range of shots and swiftness on court.
