Del Potro believes Andy Murray can achieve numero-uno ranking
2009 US Open champion Juan Martin Del Potro believes that World No. 3 Andy Murray of Great Britain can become World No. 1 this season.

Currently ranked as World No. 6 in the ATP Rankings, Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina believes that Andy Murray of Great Britain can become World No. 1 this season.

The lanky Argentine upset Andy Murray in the quarter-finals of the Indian Wells Masters last week. Now, Del Potro is looking forward to meet the Briton on grass after confirming that he will participate in the 2013 Aegon Championships at London’s Queen’s Club.

During a press meet, the Argentine quoted, "Murray is a big champion, he already won a grand slam, he made the finals in Australia and he has everything he needs to be at the top in the future. He will be fighting for the world number-one place this year and he can take a big opportunity in the grass season."

This year’s Aegon Championships field features a strong draw comprising of three Top 10 players with Andy Murray, Del Potro and Tomas Berdych. The event is starting on June 10.

Last season, Del Potro, who was earlier known for his hard-court prowess, played well at Wimbledon and won a Bronze at the Olympics. He recalled, "I have a fantastic memory from last year when I won the bronze medal at the Olympics. It was a magnificent experience for me. I had never played at an Olympics before so it was a big moment for me and my country. To win on grass at Wimbledon as well made it an even bigger moment. I think that if I play my best tennis I have a chance to win a grand slam on grass, but it will be very difficult."
