The legendary Chris Evert started young at Wimbledon and was only 17 years old in 1972 when she made her debut. That year the American lost in the semis to Evonne Goolagong.

From that day onwards, Evert featured in every Wimbledon up until the 1989. She featured in 10 Wimbledon finals but could only win three out of them. Her main rival on the green of Wimbledon was the invincible Martina Navratilova which explains her poor record in finals..
