At the onset of the year's second Grand Slam, the French Open, everyone had huge set of expectations from the Frenchwoman Aravane Rezai. Unfortunately a disappointing showing at Roland Garros, coupled with an early exit at Wimbledon dashed the hopes of the rising star. Clay, being her favourite surface, has once again given her the opportunity to claim title glory and as a last hurdle, she is ready to face Argentine Gisela Dulko.
Rezai registered some of the biggest wins of her career this year over players like Venus Williams and Justine Henin. She certainly has one of the most powerful forehands on the circuit which makes her a favourite to win the title at Bastad.
Dulko, on the other hand, spent a quiet first half of the 2010 season with her last significant win coming in 2009 Wimbledon over Maria Sharapova. Dulko's slice backhand is extremely effective on the slow clay courts of Bastad. If she is able to extract errors off Rezai's forehand, especially when she is on the run, then things can turn in Argentine's favour.
Overall, today's match up is sure to stage some fine tennis with Rezai having a clear edge over Gisela Dulko.

I think Rezai is the also new Lindsay Davenport in the making. The American also found pinnacle of her form in early twenties, just like Rezai. She will be a force to reckon with.
