World No 1 American doubles pair of Bob and Mike Bryan kept U.S. hopes alive against Spain as they defied a strong challenge from Spanish pair of Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez to win their Davis Cup semi-final doubles match with 6-3, 3-6, 7-5, 7-5 scoreline.
"We stayed the course the whole way, and three hours 40 minutes was maybe one of the longest Davis Cup matches we ever played," said Bob Bryan.
In the reverse singles matches on Sunday, American John Isner will take on take David Ferrer of Spain and Nicolas Almagro will face Sam Querrey in the final rubber.
