World No 1 Belarusian Victoria Azarenka dispatched Andrea Hlavackova in straight sets with 6-3, 7-6(2 ) scoreline to reach the third round of 2012 Madrid Open. 

Both players displayed confident play in the middle and held to their serves till 4-2 in the first set, where Azarenka secured the first break of the match and won the opening set 6-3.

The Belarusian broke Czech for the second time at 3-2 in the second set and was asked to serve out for the match at 5-4. However she committed two ill timed double faults in the game and got herself broken. The set went to a tie breaker, where Azarenka finally prevailed 7-6(2 ).

In the third round she will face the winner of match to be played between Serbian Ana Ivanovic and Nadia Petrova of Russia.
