Slovakian Dominika Cibulova posted the upset of the day at French Open 2012 as she ousted reigning World No 1 Belarusian Victoria Azarenka with 6-2, 7-6(4) scoreline in the pre-quarterfinal match on Sunday.

Both players traded a single exchange of serve in the first set before Cibulkova made full use of error marked play displayed by Azarenka and broke her twice; first at fourth game and then in the sixth game to close the set 6-2. The Slovakian placed 11 winners and benefited from 9 unforced errors made by Azarenka.
The Belarusian made a fine start in the second set as she broke Cibulkova in the first game and raced to 2-0 lead however Azarenka got herself broken in the fourth game and allowed Cibulkova to level the scores at 2-2 in the set.
Both of them exchanged couple of breaks later in the set and it went to the tie breaker. The Slovakian kept her composure there and emerged victorious with 7-6(4) scoreline.
She next faces the winner of match to be played between Aussie Samantha Stosur and Sloane Stephens of America.
