The final of the inaugural Atlanta Tennis Championsips will be played between in-form Americans Mardy Fish and ESPY winner John Isner. Where Fish registered a shocking win over childhood friend Andy Roddick in the first semifinal, Isner took out South African Kevin Anderson in three gruelling sets.
Isner is in enthralling form at the moment with a title already under his belt this year in Auckland. After two runner up finishes in Belgrade and Memphis (to Sam Querrey on both occasions), the current heart-throb of U.S. tennis is all set to claim his first title on home soil. Isner came into limelight after his marathon 11 hour plus win over Nicolas Mahut at Wimbledon. He is still basking in the glory of his maiden ESPY award win and has several endorsements to his resume. All this has given him tremendous confidence in a country which is desperately longing for a Grand Slam champion since 2003 (when Roddick claimed the U.S. Open). Isner's biggest ally is his serve which does justice to his tall 6'9'' frame. On hardcourt, Isner can be extremely dangerous with a scope of a lot of free points. His groundstrokes too, are in full swing and give him a helping hand in otherwise crucial long rallies.
His opponent, veteran Mardy Fish has been around for more than a decade and has finally found the form that fetched him a title in Newport last week along with a runner up finish at Queens Club in June.
Fish's best performance came just a day ago in Atlanta where he toppled top seed and Miami champion Andy Roddick in straight sets. Fish's game is best suited to fast paced surfaces, especially grass courts and hard courts. Two of his four career titles have come on hard courts in 2009 (Delray Beach) and 2003 (Stockholm).
To say that the final will turn out to be a one sided affair will be an overstatement as both players are enjoying the best seasons of their career. Fish, though seems to have an upper hand due to the experience and consistent performance during the past three months.
TennisEarth.com picks Mardy Fish as the winner of the final match after a probable three sets tussle.

I must say, the predictions of this writer turned out to be extremely true.. The match was a three setter, and closely fought as well, and Fish won it as mentioned in the preview.
