On Friday, in the first match on Centre Court at the Queen’s club in 2011 Aegon Championships, third-seed and four-time Queen’s Club champ Andy Roddick will take on seventh-seed Fernando Verdasco of Spain. Roddick has been playing pretty well of late and the American will be looking forward to continue in the same way. Roddick made a positive start to the grass court swing by reaching the quarter-finals, here at Queen’s Club without any difficulty.
Roddick takes on familiar opponent Fernando Verdasco of Spain, who has a 15-12 win-loss record this year and he has not won a title in 2011. On the other hand, Roddick has a 16-6 win-loss record this year and an ATP title to his name. Verdasco has been playing relatively well in this tournament. The Spaniard beat Nicolas Mahut and David Nalbandian to come this far in the tournament.
Roddick and Verdasco have met in ATP tournament on plenty of occasions. Roddick leads the head to head between the two with a 9-3. Well, the Spaniard can take some heart from the fact that he won his most recent duel against Roddick in San Jose. Verdasco can certainly push Roddick, but the Spaniard will have to bring in his A-game to earn a victory against him.
