Recently retired Andy Roddick will feature in Miami Tennis Cup. He is joined by Andy Murray in this exhibition tournament, which will be played at Crandon Park Tennis Center, Key Biscayne. Other notable players, who will also feature in this tournament, are retired Spaniard and former World No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero, Nicolas Almagro and Alejandro Falla.
There is a lot to look forward to for the South Florida tennis fans, which would see these super-stars of tennis in action at Key Biscayne. The inaugural Miami Tennis Cup, an exhibition tournament which runs Friday through Sunday, also features top-ranked American John Isner, who is ranked as World No. 14 in the ATP Rankings.
When asked about the tournament, Isner said, “It’s a very easy commute for me. I don’t have to hop on a plane. I just drive to Miami, a really fun place, and I get really good practice against some top players. It is a very, very tough field. We are all looking for competition before the Australian Open, and there is no better practice than matches against good players.”
The tournament is being presented by Group NOS, an Argentina-based sports and entertainment promoter. This tournament is based on a “Super Six” double-elimination round-robin format. Murray and Roddick have got byes to the semifinal, and will play each other Saturday at 5 p.m.
