Andy Murray's Hotel crowned the best in Scotland
Wimbledon champion Andy Murray's Cromlix House Hotel has won the Scottish hotel of the year award, just 27 days after it was opened for the public at Perthshire, near his hometown of Dunblane.

Former World No.2 Andy Murray’s luxury hotel ‘The Cromlix’ was named the Scottish hotel of the year. Situated, three miles away from Dunblane in Central Scotland, Murray had purchased the Victorian Era mansion in February 2013. It went through an extensive refurbishment before it was reopened to the visitors on the 1st of April this year.

Rubbishing the criticism on selecting the hotel for the prestigious award, Judges’ chairman Gary McLean-Quin claimed that Murray’s hotel was chosen for its aesthetics, and its excellent service.

He said: “Hotels often have sizeable sums of money spent on them but that’s only half the battle. What impressed us, and specifically enabled this award, was the involvement of award-winning management and individuals in every department – people of excellence we’ve known for a decade. The result is no less than a national treasure.”

He added: “We must also pay tribute to Andy’s mother Judy, who has undoubtedly played a great part in this transformation.”

Strange! How can a hotel having operated for few days be a 'hotel of the year'? They just favoured their famous son.
