With one of the best US Open finals tennis had to offer, it was Scot Andy Murray who was simply exceptional during the tournament and was rewarded with his maiden Grand Slam victory when Novak Djokovic sent a forehand return out.
76 years after Fred Perry raised his arms in victory, it was Murray, rewrote history for a nation that has produced some tennis greats. With the Australian Open up next in 2013, let’s have a look at some of the instances that we will cherish for some time to come.

Just hope he doesn't let himself down in Tokyo. He often is less good when fewer cameras and hype! He's not played a match since 'that' match, so hope he's fully recovered from all the celebrating. Monfils has played himself into form and could be tricky, though Andy should be too solid for him.
