World No. 39 Kevin Anderson dented the hopes of Frenchman Richard Gasquet to qualify for the season ending championships with a 76(5), 4-6, 6-1 victory in the second round match at the Paris Masters on Wednesday.
Both players displayed high quality tennis in the first set and no breaks of serve were exchanged in it. The set went to the tie breaker where Anderson upped the level of his play at a crucial time to wrap the set with 7-6(5) scoreline in his favour.

In the second set also, both players wrestled hard for their way in the set but it was Gasquet, who secured the lone break at 5-4 scoreline and then served out to take the match into a deciding set.
Anderson stepped up the 'pedal' in the third set and raced to 5-0 lead in the set. The Frenchman was able to take one game in the set but couldn't stop Anderson from serving out for the match.
Anderson fired 13 aces in the middle and placed 41 winners. He also got benefited from 26 unforced errors made by Gasquet in the match.
