Gunning for back-to-back WTA titles on tour, World No. 5 Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland will take on World No. 123 Su-wei Hsieh of Chinese Taipei to secure her berth in the semi-final of the 2012 Malaysian Open, a WTA International tournament, being played here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Chasing back-to-back WTA titles on tour, top-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland won two matches on Thursday to reach the quarterfinals of the rain-delayed 2012 Malaysian Open. Radwanska won Dubai WTA Premier Tournament last week and now she is looking forward to claim back-to-back WTA titles on tour. Radwanska made an impressive start this season as she reached last eight in Sydney International and then followed it up with a quarterfinal performance at the Australian Open by the virtue of which she reached a career best ranking of number 6. She looked in a superb form at Qatar Open, where she reached the semi-finals. The Pole won the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships last week, when she beat Julia Goerges 7-5, 6-4. With that victory, Radwanska also jumped to a new career high rank of No.5 in the World. The Pole is bidding for her 9th WTA career title on tour.
Bidding for her maiden title on tour Su-wei Hsieh is currently ranked as World No. 123 in the WTA Rankings. Su-wei Hsieh earned a straight sets 6-1 7-5 victory over Casey Dellacqua of Australia to set up this quarter-final clash with the top-seeded Radwanska. Hsieh has been enjoying a decent form of late and she has a good 8-2 win-loss record in the new season. This will be the first meeting between these two contenders and Hsieh will have to come up with something good now to continue her dream run at this WTA International tournament.
