In the first match on fourth day at Rome Open 2012, third seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland faces Czech Petra Cetkovska for a place in the third round.
Radwanska has had a good year so far with her win-loss record standing at 32/6. She started the year by reaching the semifinals of the Sydney International and then managed to reach the quarterfinal of the Australian Open. She has since, picked her game up and won her eighth WTA title at Dubai, with that she cracked the Top 5 in March and then jumped to the World No.4 spot in the world winning her ninth WTA title in Miami, upsetting Sharapova in the final. The Pole reached the semis of Stuttgart and Madrid Open but got defeated by Radwanska on both occasions.
Her opponent: Cetkovska has herself had quite a poor year up until now. She started her season at the Aussie Open where she lost in the second round to the dangerous - Mona Barthel. Subsequent losses at Paris, Doha and Dubai in the second, third and first rounds respectively have only added to the carnage. She is still struggling and was knocked out in Barcelona in the second round losing to Suarez Navarro. At Madrid Open, last week she lost to Aussie Samantha Stosur in the third round.
Both players have met three times before and suprisingly Cetkovska has won each of them. Last time they met at New Haven 2011, where Czech won 6-4 5-7 6-3.
TennisEarth Pick: Radwanska definitely looks to be a player in form and should be able to score her first victory against Cetkovska this time.

Too bad it didn't happen. This Rome event is taking its toll of some of the top 20 players.
