World No. 2 Agnieszka Radwanska started off the new season on a high note, as she finished as a quaterfinalist at the Aussie Open and then went on to win her eighth WTA title at Dubai. She maintained her tremendous form afterwards and reached the quarterfinals at Kuala Lumpur. But, the Pole could not continue with her devastating form on clay and was ousted in the third-round at Roland Garros, but made up for that by advancing in to her maiden Grand Slam final at Wimbledon, where she lost to Serena Williams. After that she made into the quarterfinals of Rogers Cup and Cincinnati Open. With 48-13 win-loss record for this season so far, the Pole is certainly a tricky contender to beat of late.
Her opponent: Olga Govortsova of Belarus is ranked 82 on the WTA charts and has 18-18 win loss record this year. She is still to win a WTA title in singles and would like to go deep in the draw here.
Both the players have met twice before and Radwanska has won on both occasions.
