World No.8 Li Na today faces a stiff test against Polish No.1 Agnieszka Radwanska in the quarterfinal of the star-studded Porsche Grand Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart.
The World No.4 has had a good year so far and her win/loss record stands at 26/4. She started the year by reaching the semifinals of the Sydney International and then only managed to reach the quarterfinal of the only Grand Slam this year - the Australian Open. She has since, picked her game up and won her eighth WTA title at Dubai, with that she entered the Top 5. In March, she jumped to No.4 in the world winning her ninth WTA title in Miami, upsetting Maria Sharapova in the final. She reached the quarterfinal here by beating veteran Greta Arn 7-5, 6-3.
After having a splendid year in 2011, where she rose to No.5 in the world, the Chinese No.1 has
had a disappointing start to the year. She started the year on a high and was runner up only to eventual Australian Open Champion and World No.1 Victoria Azarenka. That was however brought to a halt soon and in the Australian Open, she bowed down to Kim Clijsters in the fourth round. In February, the former Grand Slam winner suffered an injury on her lower back. She made it to the quarterfinals of both Indian Wells and Miami Sony Ericsson Open. Her win/loss record stands at 13/5 this year.
Their head to head record stands at two each and their last meeting was back in 2010 at Wimbledon which was won by the Chinese, but going by current form the World No.4 is clearly the favorite for this one.
