Match Cast: Federer vs Berdych
Berdych continued to roll with the momentum in the second set as well as he broke Federer in the first game and got another break in the seventh game. However, Federer broke back immediately in the next game and then held his service game to reduce the gap to 4-5 scoreline in the set.
Berdych did not repeat the mistakes he made earlier as he arrowed two aces enroute to his service hold and took a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.
Things started looking grim for Federer as he lost the opening game of the third set but like a true champion he never looked panicked out there and waited for opportunites to come his way. Federer reeled off five games in a row from 1-3 down in the set and closed the third set with 6-3 scoreline in his favour.
In the fourth set, both players fought hard for their way and no breaks were exchanged until 5-3 scoreline where Berdych broke Federer and then served out for a place in the semis.
