Second seeded Serbian Novak Djokovic takes on third-seeded Briton Andy Murray for a spot in the final of 2012 London Olympics, being played at All England Club, Wimbledon on Friday.
Novak Djokovic has not had things going his way so far with just 2 titles to his name in 2012 so far. Though he has a really healthy 43-7 win-loss record so far this year, he has not been successful in defending the points he accumulated last year and this has resulted in him losing the World No.1 rank to Roger Federer. But, he is aiming for gold this time around and has produced some really inspiring tennis in his previous rounds matches, including a straight sets demolition of former US Open Champion Andy Roddick(he lost just 3 games).
His opponent- Murray, is coming off from final loss at Wimbledon three weeks ago. He has a very good 33-10 win-loss record for the season so far and he has won an ATP World Tour title in 2012. Murray is aiming to better the achievement of former British Davis Cup player Charles Dixon, who won the 1912 Stockholm Olympics singles silver medal.
This will be the 14th meeting between the two players and Djokovic leads 8-5 in head tohead series. Last time they met at Miami Masters this year, where Djokovic won with 6-1, 7-6(4) score-line. However this will be the first meeting between the two on grass and with crowd backing up their local boy, Murray looks to have a slight advantage.
