2 former World No.1s battle it out for a place in the quarter finals of the London Olympics when second seeded Serb Novak Djokovic locks horns with Australian Lleyton Hewitt. With both players showing some good form, it will be exciting to see how this match goes!
Novak Djokovic has not had things going his way so far with just 2 titles to his name in 2012 so far. Though he has a really healthy 43-7 win-loss record so far this year, he has not been successful in defending the points he accumulated last year and this has resulted in him losing the World No.1 rank to Roger Federer. But, he is aiming for gold this time around and has produced some really inspiring tennis in his previous two rounds, including a straight sets demolition of former US Open Champion Andy Roddick(he lost just 3 games).
On the other hand, Lleyton Hewitt comes into The Olympics ranked at a really low 159 in the World and has a really dismal 10-6 win-loss record in 2012 till now. He, like Djokovic has produced some really high quality of tennis in the previous two rounds, including a really impressive straight sets victory over Marin Cilic in the previous round. Things will be a lot different this time around for Hewitt, as he would know that Djokovic is no pushover.
The two have faced each other 6 times in the past with the last 5 meetings going to the Serb. Their most recent meeting came at the 2012 Australian Open where Djokovic prevailed in a tough 4 set match.
