With a spot in the last 8 up for grasp, Dane Caroline Wozniacki faces Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia in the third round at the London Olympics.
World No.8 Caroline Wozniacki has not had the best year so far with a win-loss record of 24-13. She is still in the hunt for her first title of 2012. With some really bad losses to her lower ranked opponents, Wozniacki has seen a dip in her ranking, which was No.1 when this year started. Her performance at Wimbledon recently was nothing great as she lost in the opening round. Her struggle on grass has continued as she has won both her previous rounds here in three close sets, showing that she still has the fighting qualities she is known for.
On the other side of the court, World No.33 Hantuchova, has won a title this year and has a win-loss of 21-12 in 2012. Hantuchova defeated Na Li in the first round here and continued her good performance in the second round. She comes into this match with a tough fight on the cards. Her strength lies in her mixing her game well and would be hoping she can do that successfully today.
The two have faced each other 4 times with Wozniacki leading 3-1. Their last meeting went to Hantuchova in 2 easy sets the French Open in 2011.
