Second-seeded Tomas Berdych will take on Estonia’s Jurgen Zopp to secure his berth in the last eight at the 2012 If Stockholm Open on Thursday. Berdych is expected to win this duel in straight sets.
The Czech has been producing consistent results in the past two months, winning 16 of his last 20 matches and now looking in a great position to qualify for the ATP World Tour Finals. Five contenders have been already finalized for the ATP World Tour finals and Berdych is vying for the sixth position. The Czech is gunning for 13th quarter-final appearance in 2012.
On the other hand, World No. 87 Zopp is trying to reach his second ATP World Tour quarter-final of the season. Earlier this season, he advanced to the quarters in Bastad. Zopp turned professional in 2008 and he is bidding for his maiden title on tour.
This will be a second-meeting between these two. Earlier they met in the second-round at US Open this season, where Berdych topped the Estonian in straight sets.
