On Thursday, first on Centre Court is seventh seeded Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus, who will take on World No. 54 Alejandro Falla to secure his berth in the quarter-finals of the 2012 If Stockholm Open, an ATP World Tour 250 Event, being played here in Stockholm.
The Cypriot Baghdatis has a good record in this tournament. He claimed the title here in 2009. He struggled earlier in the season but looking in a good touch in the past few weeks. He reached the semi-finals in Tokyo two weeks ago and also advanced into the third round last week in Shanghai. He has a good 32-23 win-loss record for the season.
On the other hand, Alejandro Falla of Colombia advanced into sixth ATP World Tour quarter-final of the year this season. The Colombian has a 12-22 win-loss record for the season.
This will be a third-meeting between these two and Baghdatis leads the head-to-head with 2-0. Last time they met in Cincinnati Masters earlier this season, where the Cypriot topped the Colombian in straight sets.
