Maria Sharpaova moved one step closer to complete a career Grand Slam after she reached the semi-finals of the French Open with a straight sets victory over Kaia Kanepi of Estonia 6-2, 6-3 in an hour and 15 minutes.
Sharapova took the first set in 35 minutes after playing some sensible tennis. She had things going her right from the start as she broke Kanepi 3 times in the set. She kept hitting the ball hard and deep as she forced Kanepi to commit most of the errors. She also attacked a rather weak Kanepi second serve. With 8 winners Sharapova wrapped the set without much trouble.

The second set was somewhat the same, with Sharapova playing some of her best tennis, serving well and controlling the point right from the start. After being down 0-2, she won 5 games back to back, all thanks to her thunderous forehands, that found the line when she needed them to.
As the tournament has progressed, Sharapova has really come out on top and is looking really a heavy favorite for this title.
