2012 has been a quite the year for Czech Lucie Hradecka, she has seen the lows of dropping to well into the hundreds at one point, she has come back to 60 in the world rankings. Earlier in the year at the Madrid Open, she was ranked 105 in the world and nobody gave her any chance, but she has defied odds by beating World No.3 Petra Kvtiova and the World No.5 Smantha Stosur. That however was the end of her dream run, but the Czech build on that start and has reached where she is now.
Hradecka’s opponent is teenager Canadian qualifier Eugenie Bouchard, who is currently ranked as World No. 237 in the WTA Rankings. The Canadian has been making a great progress in the new season with a 30-9 win-loss record.
In the only time they have met before, it was the Czech who came out on top and TennisEarth considers her to be the favorite again once more.
