Defending runner up Marin Cilic looks to win his third title on home soil when he faces Spaniard Marcel Granollers in the finals of the ATP Studena Croatia Open.
Currently ranked as World No.15 on the ATP charts, Cilic has been rising the ranks slowly and steadily, courtesy some good, consistent performances. He recently won his first title of 2012 at the Aegon Championships and would be hoping to make it 2 for this year. With a decent 18-10 win-loss record, Cilic reached the fourth-round of Wimbledon last week and has kept the momentum going. He would be in better position today as he will have the crowd support behind him. He lost in the finals here last year and would be focusing on claiming the silverware this time around.
His opponent, Granollers, is ranked 24th in the World and is looking to win his maiden title of the year
and his fourth overall. Things have not gone the Spaniard's way this year, his 11-14 win-loss record says it all. He also has not been able to reach deep of tournaments and he would not want to mess things up today. His road to the finals here has also not been a smooth one, with ALL his matches stretching to three sets, also proving that he is a great fighter and does not give away a match easily to his competitor.
This will be the sixth meeting between the two with Cilic leading 4-1. Their last meeting came last year and it was the Spaniard, who came out on top.
