Federer and Nadal played four singles matches, with Nadal winning the first three matches and Federer winning the last match. In their first singles match of 2011, the two met in the semifinals of the Miami Masters, where Nadal won in straight sets. They met in the semifinal at the Mutua Madrid Open, and Nadal won in three sets. They then squared off in the finals of the 2011 French Open, their first Grand Slam meeting since the 2009 Australian Open final.
As predicted it was Nadal again, who defeated Federer in four sets to win his tenth Major title and sixth French Open crown. Their final meeting of the year came in the round-robin stage of the 2011 ATP World Tour Finals. Their match, a rematch of the previous year's final, saw Federer humbling Nadal in straight sets. Federer later created history by winning the World Tour Finals for the sixth time. It was Nadal, who was in command of their head-to-head count 17-9.

Awesome article, really liked the - 'over the years' summary of the two legends and their rivalry. I hope Nadal proves his mettle at French Open once again, but am afraid, Djokovic is going to hold all four slams by winning Roland Garros...!
