Jo-Wilfried Tsonga became the new World No. 6 after his finals showing at the Paris Masters. Being the only Frenchman in the Top 8 line up, it would be interesting to see how the unpredictable Frenchman performs in London.
Tsonga started the year on a promising note with a semi-final at Doha. He later had a dismal outing at the Australian Open, where he made an unceremonious exit in the third round. He made the final at Rotterdam in February, where he lost to Robin Soderling.
His grass court performances were very impressive with a finals stint at the Queen's Club and a semi-final at Wimbledon. He had very inspiring wins over Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer during these results.
His run to the semi-final at the Montreal Masters marked his beginning to the summer hard court events. He then reached the quarter-finals of the US Open, where he was beaten by Federer. Tsonga went on to win two tournaments at Metz and then Vienna in a gap of a month. He followed these title wins with a finals at the Paris Masters. This helped him seal his spot for London for the second time in his career.
Tsonga definitely packs a punch and has a pretty good shot at a semi-final berth in the O2 Arena. But you never know what Tsonga does as his unpredictable nature rules over him.

I don't think Tsonga will ever be among the greats.

He is a contender for sure. The pressure might be too much though.
