Vera Zvonareva has proved it again after the Rogers Cup that she is among to eight best female tennis players of the world. She flaunted her matchplay in her fourth round match against Andrea Petkovic.She excelled in every department and flaunted her forehands and her backhands at every possible opportunity. The Russian defeated Petkovic in simple two sets to enter the Quarterfinals. She will be looking forward to play asgainst Kaia Kanepi today and surpass her to march into the quarterfinals.
Kaia Kanepi from Estonia is playing her matches with awesome quality. She had a jerky start to her quest at the Grand Slam as she defeted Alise Cornet in three sets. After that it was smooth sailing for the Estonian. Kanepi stunned the world with her defeat over Jelena Jankovic on a windy day. She maintained her consistency under adverse conditions and went past the Serbian in two straight sets, one being a tiebreaker. Both players have the capability to withstand pressure situations as they have come across a few during their previuous matches
Zvonareva has been performaing to decent levels in the past and is seeded 7 in the tournament. She is ranked at world number 8 among the WTA rankings. Kanepi on the other hand is ranked just within the top fourty players at 32 in the WTA rankings.
This the first time that both the palyers will be playing each other. Both the players possess a commendable win/loss record as they have been in good form this year. Zvonareva has a win/loss record of 33/14 this year and Kanepi has a win/loss record of 42/16 this year.
