Jankovic defied the late charge of the Italian Flavia  Pennetta and secured her berth in the quarter-finals of the 2012 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.  Jankovic came back strongly after losing the first-set and then made a quick breakthrough in the second- the Serbian did well to maintain the momentum in the second-set to win this encounter in straight sets.
