Eugenie Bouchard

World No. 8 Eugenie Bouchard had to work really hard in her second round clash versus Sorana Cirstea as she pushed her to the very brink of defeat. However, the 20-year old Canadian star maintained her composure and kept on finding answers to her opponent’s determined play on the day. Still, when the push came to shove, Bouchard was able to raise her level of play and eventually prevailed in a tight three setter.  She smashed 29 winners, and won 9 of 14 points at the net to advance through to the third round of the US open on Thursday night here in New York.

Flawless Federer cruises into the third-round - Swiss genius Roger Federer looked way ahead of his opponent Peter Polansky in the 51 minute long match encounter in which he thrashed him 6-2, 6-0.
