Azarenka looked in a complete control from the beginning of the match and she did not allow the Australian to settle down - at any moment of the match. Well-deserved victory and title for the World No. 1. Stosur just could not match up with the precision and swiftness of Azarenka today.

Reigning champion Novak Djokovic edges past crowd favourite Lleyton Hewitt in four tough sets to reach the quarterfinal of Australian Open. Djokovic played superbly in the first two sets but went off the boil in the third set. Hewitt took full advantage of it and threatened to take the match to a distance.  Djokovic regrouped himself in the fourth set and went on to win the match.
