World no.3 Victoria Azarenka survived a second set blip in her match against 9^th seed Samantha Stosur to reach her first sem-final at the Italian Open here in Rome. Even though it was an up and down show from the Aussie Open champion, she did just enough in that topsy turvy final set to come out unscathed in an hour and 58 minutes. It was the 38 unforced errors that Australian made that in the end tilted the balance in the favor of the 3^rd seed. The Belarusian will now meet the local girl Sara Errani  for a place in Sunday’s showpiece final.

The Australian World No. 7 bites the dust again! The 24 year old Spaniard  Suareznavarro further improved her record against the top Australian, who played so erratically today and lost this duel in 1 hour and 50 minutes. Stosur failed to match-up with Navarro's accuracy and precision-oriented approach. Stosur committed 37 errors in total and got only 57% of her first serve in. The Spaniard made the most of given opportunities and played well during the crucial moments of the match.
