Super-Serena clinched the 2012 US Open title. The American powerhouse showed her true class by defying the strong challenge of the World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka. With this victory, Serena claimed her 15th Grand Slam title and 4th US Open title. Serena looked absolutely elated after winning the title, while Azarenka had eyes welling up with tears. A see-saw battle that started on an expected note, as Serena dominated the proceedings in the first set, but lost the concentration in the second and found herself in a tricky spot. Finally, the American kept herself cool in the crucial third-set and claimed the title, as Azarenka could not handle the pressure well.
