Fish broke the Cuevas serve at the right time. Fish displayed amazing qualities of hitting the right ground stroke at the right time. Cuevas tried hard in the third set to break Fish as he managed to snatch a few break points on the American's serve but then failed to convert them as Fish showed great levels of determination to finish off the match in straight sets. After being down a break in the first set, Fish came back to win the match in three sets 7-5, 6-0, 6-2 to proceed further in the tournament
