The hope of Britain - Andy Murray survived a scare today as he overcame a determined Marcos Baghdatis on Centre Court. A potential thriller in the making, it did not disappoint. Murray thought he had done the job when he took the first set and then broke Baghdatis in the second. The Cypriot however had other ideas, he fought back in the second to break Murray twice and take the set 6-3. Play was then halted for a while as the roof was to come on, Baghdatis came out of the break firing on all cylinders and broke the Murray serve again. It all looked gloomy for the World No.4 and the English supporters. But as the saying goes, cometh the hour cometh the man! Murray fought back and broke the Baghdatis serve, not once but twice in the set to win it and with it move 2 sets to 1 up.

The fourth was a bit of an anticlimax as the Cypriot faded away and allowed the Scot to take the match in 3 hours and thirteen minutes. He arrowed 10 aces and smashed 31 winners en-route to his victory.

Here comes another crucial break for Murray and now he will serve to win this tussle.
