Sprem was hitting the ball well with her high paced strokes, but lost the crucial rallies. Clijsters took a little extra time to win her match against Sprem as she lost two match points to sink into a deuce, but then took the third match point with a great serve and won the match in straight sets 6-3, 6-2. Sprem tried a lot to come back in the second set as she tried different strategies against the Belgian, but Clijsters was getting many balls back in court to frustrate Sprem. As a result Clijsters wins with a scoreline of two sets to love.
