Awesome display of mental toughness, grit and determination that pulled the Argentine out of situations that are almost impossible to deal with, especially against a player like Nadal. After racing to a 3-0 lead in the decider, Nadal's victory was looking more like a formality, However, the Argentine hung in there and levelled the final set score and got back on serve. After holding his nerves, that saw him miss out on three match point opportunities in the 12th game, Del Potro finally emerged victorious in the tie-break and made the day memorable for himself.
