In a particularly disappointing match for the home crowd, home favorite Julien Benneteau just could not take the chances he had as a ruthless Tipsarevic, did what he has been doing for the past couple of years, finishing opponents off. Tipsarevic has really grown in stature and in maturity and all of it was evident, as even when the umpire made a horrendous call, the Serb did not lose his cool. The match ended with 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 score line which was fitting. The Serb was broken just once in the entire match. Tipsarevic arrowed 16 aces and smashed a whopping 50 winners, the World No.8's backhand was particularly good in the match.
