Whew! What a match. It was never clear, till the last point as to who would win the quarters encounter between Roger Federer and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. The match swayed from one side of the court to another keeping the viewers on the edge of their seats. Finally, Tsonga, the Frenchman ended Federer's stay at the Rogers Cup with a 7-6 1-6 7-6 victory in the first and third set tie breakers.

The first set went into tie breakers which Tsonga won after much struggle. In the second set, it seemed like Federer was going to absolutely tear apart the Frenchman and it happened so. The Swiss won the second set 6-1.
 
In the third set, Federer was 5-1 up when Tsonga rallied from behind to win 4 games on the trot breaking Federer and holding his serve to take the match into tie breakers again. It was Tsonga all over as Federer fell and Tsonga became the second player after Andy Murray to enter the semi finals of the Rogers Cup here in Montreal.
