So after only one hour and 22 minutes of play, Novak Djokovic regained his focus to become the first player in the draw to reach the quarterfinals of the 2009 Rogers Cup, an ATP World Tour 100 event - Montreal. 

Djokovic only managed to hit 12 winners but a total of 29 unforced errors from the Russian did the trick for the current Masters Cup champion...!

Youzhny loses his calm in the initial points as another forehand in the net gives Djokovic a 15-30 mini break. The Russian though comes back into the game to stay in the match. The real question however is, for how long, as Djokovic prepares himself to serve for the match.

Youzhny comes up with some impressive court coverage to test Djokovic in his service game. A couple of unforced errors get Youzhny a break point at 30-40, but similar pattern gets repeated in the next two points in Djokovic's favour as the Serb races to a 5-3 lead.

Youzhny brings in some depth to his shots with a couple of forehand winners for a 30-0 lead and as Djokovic falters on an easy return of serve, Youzhny avoids any more breaks to stay in contention.

Djokovic quickly races to a 40-0 lead, thanks to some solid first serves and weakm returns from the Russian. As with a 4-2 lead now, Djokovic is just two games away for a place in the quarterfinals.

Djokovic's biggest win so far this year is the title triumph at the Dubai Tennis Championships, where he outclassed Spaniard David Ferrer is straight sets.

Djokovic cracks a blistering forehand to win the first point, but two solid serves from the Russian help him get back on track, followed by a drop winner to close out the game. Djokovic still stays ahead with a set and a break.

Youzhny opens the game well with some enthralling play at the net, but Djokovic comes up with some power serving to grab somen easy points. Although Youzhny does make an attempt to break Djokovic's rhythm, the Serb looks in total control to with a 3-1 lead.

Novak Djokovic started the year on a bad note, withdrawing from his quarterfinal match against Andy Roddick at the Australian Open. However, the Serbian bounced back during the American hardcourt season by making the semifinal of the BNP Paribas Open and the finals in Miami.
