Davydenko races away with the second set at 6-0 within 20 minutes as he broke Greul as every possible opportunity and manages to defeat Greul in straight sets 7-6, 6-0. Davydenko used his experience to edge past Gruel in style.
Davydenko displayed great levels of match play as he stroked aggressive forehands and backhands at strategic locations of the court to take command of the whole match and defeat Greul who fought well in the first but gradually faded away in the second set as he was left with no answers to the Russian's aggressive performance.
