Empahtic performance by Russian Maria Sharapova as she downs Italian Sara Errani in straight sets to win FRENCH OPEN 2012 and completes her career Grand Slam. This is the first time that the Russian made it into the final at Roland Garros and wins the title also. By completing her career-slam, Sharapova joined the elite club featuring icons of the game including Serena Williams, Steffi Graf, Martina Navratilova and Billie Jean King.

After 36 minutes of play in the first set - Sharapova claimed it. The Russian made a blistering start to the match as she broke the Italian twice. Though, Sharapova lost her concentration for a while, she made up for that with some tremendous shots on both sides of the court and went on to win the first set.
