Wawrinka makes his intent lear in the very first game by attacking the Tsonga serve. He races into 15-40 lead. Strong willed Tsong though, recovers again to save the break points and take the game. Will it be a case of missed opportunities for Wawrinka, only time will tell.

A set that started off evenly slowly started to turn the Frenchman's way, who's serving looked immaculate. Tsonga smashed 12 winners and comitted only 14 unforced errors. The stats and the set was very even, but Tsonga was strong willed for a change and took the set because he won all the vital points.
