Its double delight for France as Tsonga handles Becker well to earn 2-0 lead in the best of five match tie. Tsonga dominated the things in the first and second set and looked all set to finish the things in hurry. But all credit to Becker he bounced back in the third set and turned that set into a entertainer. However Tsonga regrouped himself in the fourth set and clinched the victory in his favour.

Earlier in the day, Gael Monfils handed a 6-1 6-4 7-6 defeat to German Philipp Kohlschreiber and gave France a 1-0 lead over Germany.
