Rising French star Gael Monfils registered his first ever Davis Cup match win today with a convincing straight sets over-powering of German Philipp Kohlschreiber to give host nation France a crucial 1-0 lead in the tie. Monfils looked in supreme form in the first two sets but lost focus in the third when the set went into a tie-break, which eventually ffavoured the gutsy Frenchman.
