SPAIN WINS 2009 DAVIS CUP...!

A third consecutive victory in the tie against Czech Republic saw host nation Spain successfully defend their Davis Cup title. In a match that lasted two hours and 45 minutes, the Spanish duo of Fernando Verdasco and Feliciano Lopez outclassed the Czech pair of Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek in staright sets to win the fourth title in nine years.

Moments later, Czech Republic faces another break point at 40-A when Stepanek loses balance at the net, but somehow fires a huge serve to force deuce. As Berdych's reflex volley goes into the net, Spain gets a golden chance once again and thanks to Verdasco's blistering returns, Spain get their second successive break and an invincible 4-1 lead.
