After a short debacle in the second set, Maria Sharapova finally won the match to secure her berth in the semi-final of the Cincinnati Open 2010. The former World No. 1. apparently outplayed the Frenchwoman Bartoli in the first set, but failed to maintain the momentum in the second set and also got herself broken in an uncharacteric manner - by committing a string of unforced errors, but the Russian regrouped herself nicely during the key moments of the match and surged forth.
