In a match that saw a reversal of fortunes, Belgian Kim Clijsters fought off a set and break deficit along with several championship points against her to overcome the massive challenge of Russian Maria Sharapova to win the final of the 2010 Western and Southern Financial Group Women's Open. Clijsters hit a mere 19 winners to a whopping 31 from Sharapova but took full advantage of the Russian's 47 unforced errors to clinch title victory.
